Gone with the Fire...

Well, Its been two weeks since I wrote my last blog and many things happen in these two weeks.
Lets first look at the National/international events before going to my personal errands...

1. Pakistan as usual denying everything related to it's link with whatever happened in Mumbai on 26/11. (I still don't understand the Politics, on one side they want to do it and on the other hand they don't want to accept. How come they can deny the link of a person with his motherland. Apart from terrorism, this is serious violation of moral right of a person who can't call his mother as mother. Of course, they have done the same thing in the past during Kargil.) Apart from all that happened, I am curious when will India gain the status of Sovereign country, not on the paper but in real world. When will we stop going to US daddy crying and complaining about what Pakistan has done, and try to convince him first which is very obvious and known to every living being in south Asia.

2. India continues to win matches, which is signal of a big change. I am not a cricket analyst or a great fan (give me option between Cricket match and Hollywood movie, I'll choose the later one), but still this won't stop me to sense a change in the attitude of the team and their appetite to win. I don't know it is really a change made by Mahi or Kirsten, or this change is with all the Indians. I used to get surprised when India used to win 2-3 matches in a row, but now even winning an entire series doesn't look un-obvious.

3. Satyam - Maytas story. Since I am an employee of Satyam, this is very close to my heart. What had happened was really unfortunate (for Satyam and investors both). Satyam was not really doing good as in Public image (reasons are delayed joining of new employees, lay-offs of existing employees and many other small incidents, and over it one of India's leading newspaper always willing tp put it on the front as long as it's negative) and it is really difficult for me to understand that Satyam's top management is not aware of this. With my limited understanding, if I look in to this acquisition, I can't find anything wrong (though SEBI's analysis has still yet to come). Board was analysing this possibility from last three month and it doesn't require all shareholder's approval (legally not ideally). The very reason of acquiring Maytas was also logical, Infrastructure was the basic business of the Satyam and before getting in to IT, they were in that. Also, in this market turmoil, it's good to have a cushion, that too if the cushion comes from completely un-related industry. As long as the concern  is over investor's money which was going for the Maytas acquisition (which has more than 30% shares from Raju's family),  I think this is just a over-reaction. Satyam family knows business tactics very well, and they know how to save Investor's money and Business both, and if you see the Maytas current projects in hand, you will never doubt about money back. May be its a wrong timing or hype created by media, I am sure Satyam (Raju) will overcome this difficult time and very soon you will receive some good news from Our Front.

Oopppsssss..!!!! These National/International stories really take hell of time (and space). Well, As this article has gone quite a length, lets keep my Personal news for some other time, and anyway, those are stupid, boring, silly and no good for others.

The route less taken...

I always wanted to be a politician.

There are many characteristics I find in the politicians. some of them are...

1. They need not to study very hard and get good grades. What require most is dedication for this profession and do whatever it demands (I really mean whatever).
2. This profession also requires lot of hard work and patience, which once you have, you can apply anywhere.
3. You have to be an actor to be a successful politician, but apart from that you also need to be shameless, liar and crook. (This is the precise reason that none of the actors ever succeeded in this industry)
4. You should have a capacity of deny anything and everything, no matter how true that is and how strongly you believe in that.
5. You have to be a Leader that means either you born with leadership qualities, or born at a leader's home.
6. Last but not the least, you should have a ability to handle people from extremely diversified background. That too with utmost confidence and according to their strata.

As i was saying, I always wanted to be a politician, but with a difference. I do have certain above mentioned qualities but definitely not all. Its a sheer human psyche that everyone wants to achieve what he ever dreamt, but not willing to change oneself for the goal. Those who do change, achieve the goal, but those who don't (like me) change the goal a bit and then make a try to achieve the refined goal. Well this is a iterative process and iterations keeps going till you achieve something (which you can consider as an achievement).

My condition was full of different kind of TERMS and CONDITIONS. Words like Politics and Business were not allowed to to speak in my family, due to complete failure of some of my past generations in these two. I tried different route then.

First was going through the Indian Defense forces. I was passionate for the fighter jets and their uniform but most importantly I was aware of the kind of respect our brave soldiers receive from general public. This could have been an excellent start of my political carrier (first few years with the forces and then become politician). There was another reason as well, I was (in-fact I am) very optimistic that some day our defense forces will take over the country from crooked politicians and then things could have been much better for me as an officer. Well things didn't shape up as I expected and Indian Air Force told me that you can be a pilot but not fighter pilot
(WTF).

Well this has failed and (you can say) my near future planning has completely collapsed. After that to build my career, I did engineering and then MBA. I am still looking for things to change as I recently found out that I am no good for the IT sector. Weird things happen with me all the time and looking for some immediate change, the best idea I have is to join government service at officer level, so I can see the dirty dance of politics very closely and then find out the route to enter in the den. Lets see...

Just about weekend...

* Writing a title for the Blog is always difficult, so if you don't find any relevance of title with the content... just bear with me*

Life can't be simpler any day than in weekend morning. You wake up at daily routine and suddenly find that there's nothing you need to do today (I am talking about only Bachelors), and generally people like us sleep again.  So the morning which normally happens at 6:30 - 7:00 happens at 10-11. By that time there is no scope left for breakfast and Lunch becomes heavy. Things like shower and other chores looks alien and after lunch you have a strong urge to sleep again. Evening looks pretty and time to go for some shopping (bird-watching precisely) and may be movie or dinner at some good restaurant. People who have some other interests, bring bottle at room and do the party, those who are more civilised (or can manage a heavy paycheck) go to pubs and bars.

Oh, I forgot to tell you my location (without which you can't imagine the precise picture). At one side of my flat, there is Big Venkteshwara Temple and at the other side One highschool. Saturday is very auspicious day for Lord Venkteshwara and since its the biggest temple in the 3-4 KM radius, the die-hard devotees of lord Venkteshwara make sure to ruin the Saturday morning (dont take me wrong, I like sound of mantras and other rituals, but I hate it when they make the outer premises of temple as the noisest junction of Bangalore). And this is not all, at the other side Highschool is always in the competition with temple and there is always some or other function going on there (specially on Saturday). Since it comes under the marketing strategy of the school, those guys put two or three loudspeakers and then do the running commentary of the event in full volume.

After receiving this tortured Saturday morning, I believe things can't be worse (unless my landlady come to visit me or I get a call from my boss). Being a non alchohlic person with bare minimum pay cheque, evening party happen at home with good food (courtesy to my cooking) and great company (my dentist brother). And this end my fabulous half of the weekend. Other half is pretty same except the fact that I know that tomorrow is not a holiday.

Just Like That...

I don't have a particular reason for writing Blogs (like most of the Bloggers), but I like change. I get bored very easily with things and to overcome that, i need something which is different. It may involved changing office computer setup, changing setting of my bed or may be even changing my bus seat. And this is just another attempt to come out of boredom of job and life, specially when I am working for a sector which is very strongly got a hit from present market condition and staying in a city which is just a city for the record and if you see the overall psychology, you will find a overgrown town.

Many expert bloggers suggested me that first topic should be very interesting and convincing (first impression is the last impression funda), and most important, make readers curious about what may come next. I have taken that and thought of various topics.... Politics, Terror attacks (i don't know but these two comes together in my mind), movies, Sex, Office gossips, culture, technology etcetera.

I choose to remain weird, and hence: a story of today, in fact three. Somewhere related to Terrorism but more about us (you, me....us)...

1) I was going out for tea in morning (sometimes I dont take it in the office) and when I passed from the cabs who generally stand outside, from somewhere the fear of a Bomb Blast stuck me. for few second I was afraid. Any of those cab may have a explosive material inside. Though I waived off the idea as early as possible, but i was victimised of those terror attacks for few seconds. I was cursing those terrorists and our politicians.

2) In the afternoon I received a mail from my super boss, mentioning the cancellation of the Client Visit. (In case you don't know about IT industry, Client visit is a one of the Top Priority event which involve anyone and everyone, typical pain in the Butt). Reason was the recent terrorists attacks and their threat of repeating 9/11. For few hours, I was happy. It simply means at least a relax weekend. I was not cursing anyone now.

3) My family friend was in the city for the Business trip and she has to catch tomorrow (Dec 6) morning's flight to Delhi. We had a excellent dinner and when finally when I dropped her to Guesthouse, I was concerned for her flight. I am afraid and angry, afraid to terrorists and angry to our politicians, because some where they are responsible for whatever is happening.

Here I am not arriving any conclusion or giving any suggestions to anyone about how they can do better (believing that everyone know his/her job very well). As I earlier said, I like change, and I believe in change. lets see.....
